Via 313 was born from a deep love for Detroit — its grit, its culture, and above all, its pizza. Founded by two brothers who grew up devouring square slices on the streets of the Motor City, we brought that passion south to Austin, Texas.

What started as a humble trailer in 2011 has grown into one of Austin's most celebrated pizza destinations. The via 313 pizza experience is defined by our signature thick, airy dough baked in well-seasoned steel pans, crispy caramelized edges, and sauce ladled right on top — true to the Detroit tradition. From a single food trailer to an Austin institution — here's how via313 grew into the pizza destination it is today.

2011

The Trailer Dream

Brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt park a food trailer on South Lamar and introduce Austin to authentic Detroit-style square pizza. Lines form on day one.

2013

Austin Takes Notice

Via 313 earns its first major press feature and is named one of Austin's must-try food experiences. The community rallies around the square slice movement.

2016

First Brick & Mortar

We open our first permanent restaurant location in Austin, bringing the full via 313 pizza experience — including craft beers and expanded menu — to a dine-in setting.

2019

Expanding the Family

A second Austin location opens, along with catering services for events across Central Texas. The via313 brand becomes synonymous with Detroit-style pizza in the South.

2022

Franchise Program Launches

Via 313 opens its franchise program, inviting passionate pizza lovers to bring the Detroit-style experience to new markets across the United States.
